Asterope leprieuri philotima

This butterfly, with its truly unique appearance, is shown here on its ventral (top) and dorsal (bottom) sides. Leprieuri's Glory-of-the-Pearl has a characteristic metallic color, touches of red surrounding its abdomen, and a large, deep midnight-blue halo on its back. Presented in a hermetically sealed glass-fronted box, this specimen is enhanced by a black frame on a white background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, indicating its Latin name and origin. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle certifies the authenticity of this unique piece, from our collections.
