The new art of making books
This book contains Korean translations of two of the most important texts by Ulises Carrión, the Mexican conceptual artist and creator of artist's books who also ran the bookstore and archive 'Other Books and So': The New Art of Making Books and Bookworks Revisited. It also includes We Didn't Think of Winning – An Unstructured Approach to Ulises Carrión and His Activities by Guy Schraenen, Carrión's friend and a researcher specializing in artists' books, offering an overview of Carrión's life and artistic practice. Carrión was one of the first figures to regard the book as an independent medium in its own right and sought to define it through its own unique language, without relying on other forms of expression. Although his texts were written decades ago, they remain fresh, thought-provoking, and inspiring today.
