Established in 1871, the estate was originally known as Nahore Balasun before being renamed after the Balason river that flows through its lush Himalayan terrain. Balasun primarily cultivates heritage Chinary bushes, alongside select clonal sections that contribute added nuance and diversity to its teas. The estate’s cool climate, pristine hills, and high-altitude terroir create ideal conditions for crafting expressive spring harvests marked by floral brightness, brisk freshness, and layered complexity.
