The palate is punchy and in your face. It starts with that blackberry compote from the nose but quickly moves into a creamy back and forth of cinnamon, pepper, and cane sugar before throwing a curveball with lemon-lime soda concentrate, toffee, and charred oak. The finish is rich and spiced, but still keeps giving up sweeter oak notes well into a long finish of dried cherry, cranberry, golden raisin, and mint-kissed blackberry syrup.
