VIKING ROPED OR TWIST WEDDING RING 10th-11th century AD, SIZE 8
Cambridgeshire, England, 866-1067 AD. Oval form, size 8. 2.4mm at the bottom swelling to 3.2mm at the top. The top is a deeply modeled crested-roped motif. The spiral or helix was a favorite Viking form. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Vikings exchanged wedding rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
