LUNA VASE

The Luna Vase is made using the Sommerso technique which involves the submergence of a portion of handblown glass into molten glass of a contrasting colour. In the case of the Luna Vase, white or lattimo glass is blown to shape and subsequently dipped into clear glass and then worked until the desired shape is achieved. Once the glass has been cooled in the annealing oven it is then handworked in the cold shop to achieve its subtle matte finish. Named after the Roman goddess of the moon, this minimalist vase has a graceful, serene presence which quietly draws one’s attention. It may be used as a single flower vase or stand alone as an objet d’art. Designed by Felicity Menadue.
