Columella Scarf June 17 & July 1
With Karen The designer description of the pattern is "Columella is a genus of land snails with a coiled shell. The Columella scarf uses short-rows to create sideways coils and is an ideal pattern for gradient sets, or for mini-skein sets." For the shop sample a plain white was choosen for the background color and a Zauberball Crazy for the contrast color. The contrast color(s) could be anything from a single solid to a selection of multi colored yarns. For this class the student should already know the baics of knitting: casting on, binding off, and knitting. Purling is not used in this project. The project will use backward loop cast-ons, short rows, and wrap and turns (w&t) which will be taught in class.
