Ambient Architects Bundle For this bundle we are thrilled to be collaborating with our great friend Robert Soma-Lewis from Ambient Works. Rob has a wealth of experience covering the entire spectrum of audio, taking in Engineering, Mixing, Mastering, Music Production, and Sound Design. His vast knowledge and exceptional talents have been brought to bear on an outstanding collection of presets which display the very best of what our creations are capable of. This bundle includes LION, Silo, and his preset pack "Spectral No. 1 - 72 Ambient + Textural Presets for LION." We wanted to shine a spotlight on his work, because in our opinion it is some of the best in the industry, and it is the second of hopefully many packs we will add to our website through collaboration with sound artists in the scene. Moving forward we plan to use this webstie to showcase more of the work being created with our tools, besides the tools themselves. Conceptual Background The name "Ambient Architects" was not chosen simply because of the opportunity for alliteration and the appealing interplay of the t and c sounds. We do like that, but it was a secondary motivation. What we were most taken with was the concept of pieces of music that have a physical place or, perhaps, physical places that have music. The tools we make are nothing unless they are used to sculpt and create sounds. An instrument gathering dust in the corner of a room may be a beautiful object but it needs a human collaborator to give it life; our creations are no different. LION as the Foundation LION is our groundbreaking dual-oscillator synthesizer that offers an easy-to-use interface designed for quick patching and deep experimentation. It features 26 distinct oscillator modes (ranging from classic to unique) and built-in, customizable stereo and unison manipulation for rich, full sound at the source level. It uniquely offers eight modes for creatively combining its two oscillators, including experimental options like Bitwise and Ring Modulation, and includes our legendary BYOME effect row to provide 40+ modulatable effects. All this is integrated within a peerless modulation system that supports MPE and features a massive MIDI In Modulator for deep, expressive per-voice articulation, providing the power of an entire complex effects chain within a single, intuitive interface. Silo for Constructing Space Silo is our unique, endlessly tweakable reverb plugin that harnesses the power of granular processing to create rich, otherworldly, three-dimensional spatial effects. Distinct movement algorithms like Comets, Moons, Meteors and Stars make it the ideal tool for both deep sound design and multi-dimensional modulation. Inspiration Ambient has had a new resurgence of popularity over the past few year, but it is a genre that has been close to our hearts since the founding of the company and well before. One standout in particular that came to mind while creating this bundle, is the album "Music for Nine Post Cards" by Hiroshi Yoshimura. We talk about more in this post and in our newsletter. Showcase
