22 millimeters. The lowest combined stack height available. Modern cars, boats, industrial machines, and farm equipment aren't designed with the tech in mind. Fasteners get buried behind brackets, inside frames, and under harnesses, in places where standard ratchet-and-socket combinations physically can't fit. GripEdge Tools isn't just a tools company. We're a solutions company. The access problem is the one we keep coming back to time and time again. The DFRA6572 1/4" Drive Standard Flex Head 7/16 Hex Low Profile Dual Action Driver Ratchet is the answer. The 22mm number isn't marketing. It's geometry. We patented a recess ring inside the ratchet head that lets a GripEdge Dual Action Driver bit seat deeper into the tool than any other ratchet on the market accepts. The bit and the ratchet aren't two stacked parts. They're an integrated system. That's how the height comes out. This only works with GripEdge Tools Dual Action Driver bits. Try to use a standard hex bit socket and you lose the entire advantage. The DFRA6572 was designed to be the back half of a system, not a standalone tool. Non-locking flex head, 0° to 180° pivot. Most premium flex-head ratchets include a locking mechanism. We chose not to. A lock adds parts, adds height, and is one more thing that can fail under load. Our friction-pivot head holds position freely through the full 180° range and stays slim. It's a deliberate trade. We kept the tool true to its mission. Reversible 72-tooth mechanism with a 5° swing arc. Many low-profile ratchets on the market aren't reversible at all. Ours is. When you can barely move the handle, five degrees of swing is the difference between getting the fastener out and giving up. Flush-mount low-profile selector switch. The only one of its kind on a low-profile ratchet. A standard ratchet switch sticks out enough to get bumped, which means it can flip on you mid-stroke or wedge against something in a tight bay. Ours sits flush with the head. Glove-friendly. Won't snag. Won't switch by accident. This was a design priority from day one. Low-backdrag ratcheting mechanism. The handle resets smoothly on the return stroke without dragging the socket or fastener backward. Critical when you're working loose, small, or lightly seated fasteners where thread friction is limited. Hi-polish chrome-plated body. Corrosion resistance, easy cleanup, and the surface finish that pro mechanics expect on a tool they'll own for twenty years. Field-serviceable. Replaceable gear internals and a replaceable flex joint mean the tool comes apart and goes back to work. No other manufacturer in the low-profile flex-head category offers this. Compatibility The DFRA6572 is compatible only with 1/4" drive GripEdge Dual Action Driver bits. The 7/16" hex pass-through cavity is sized specifically for the 1/4" drive DAD bodies. 3/8" drive Dual Action Drivers will not fit and are not compatible. Our 3/8" drive dual action driver ratchet is coming soon! Use the DFRA6572 with the 1/4" drive bits in the following sets:
