Sawtooth Oak
The Sawtooth Oak (Quercus acutissima) is a non-native tree to North America coming from East Asia, but that doesn’t stop it from being one of the fastest growing, annually heavy producing, and cold-hardy oak trees you can plant on your property to improve habitat and food plots. It is highly adaptive to soil conditions but prefers deep, well-drained soil. The Sawtooth Oak will start producing highly desired acorns within 6-10 years and produces the best when planted near other oaks for pollination. Since Sawtooth Oaks from Bluehill Wildlife Nursery will be 3-4 years old, you could be getting acorns from your trees within 3-6 years! If you are looking for a very fast-growing and early producing oak tree that will greatly benefit the wildlife on your property with heavy annual crops of acorns dropping in September and October, the Sawtooth Oak is a great addition to your property. Key Information: Planting Zones 5-9, Soil pH 5.5-7.0, Mature Height 50′. Sawtooth oak is available for shipment or pickup after mid-March. Please select accordingly on the calendar at checkout.
