Fried herbs, roasted chestnuts, and fresh grape leaf. Our Qing Ming Dragon Well is made with leaves harvested prior to the Qing Ming rains in early April. Teas made during this period of time are especially prized, because the leaves harvested are typically first of the season; the plant has had the winter season to store nutrients in its leaves, resulting in particularly flavorful tea. While most modern Dragon Well is now mechanically processed, this tea is expertly hand-crafted and sorted by our partner tea masters in the Xihu, or "West Lake," region of Zhejiang Province specifically for Imperial Tea Court. This tea features classic notes of roasted chestnut with hints of flowers and greens, concluding with a sweet, smooth finish. It can become astringent if brewed too strongly, so we suggest starting with a lower-than-normal water temperature to lessen the impact. "Imperial" Teas: Imperial Tea Court was named after the courts of nobility in ancient China. We only give the designation "Imperial" to teas that we think are exceptional, befitting a distinguished audience. We hope you enjoy trying these unique offerings as much as we enjoy sourcing and sharing them with you. BREWING SUGGESTIONS Qing Ming Dragon Well is a green tea with some delicate flavor notes that shine when brewed gently. We recommend starting with the following: Amount of Leaves 4 grams Amount of Water 8 ounces Steeping Temperature 70C/158F Steeping Time 3 minutes Always adjust to your personal preferences!
