Overall Course Objectives Through the course, the student will acquire knowledge about Danish building tradition through the ages. Based on a prepared design proposal, the students will work on the project further, so that it becomes a Tender Project and Execution Project according to FRI’s service description. See course description in Danish Learning Objectives Assess and analyze an older building, with a focus on analyzing a design proposal for building renovation of an existing building so that it meets future functional, energy and sustainability requirements. Design new heating and ventilation installations for modern energy and comfort requirements. Designing new drainage and water installations for modern energy and comfort requirements. Project proposals in Energy Label Design energy renovation of the building. Design new wet rooms. Climate protection of the building Design recreational areas on roofs or on the ground, with a focus on climate protection Explain for the cooperation of the group. Course Content Energy renovation of old apartment buildings is important because it reduces energy consumption, improves the indoor climate and reduces CO₂ emissions. Updated technical installations increase operational reliability, lower maintenance costs and extend the life of the building. At the same time, the renovation creates better comfort and increases the value of the property. This benefits residents, the economy and the climate in the long term and strengthens the future sustainability of the building. The students prepare a Tender Project and Execution Project for a building renovation, with the following objectives: • Design a new bathroom • Design changes to the climate shield proposed in the Energy Label. • Design new water, drainage, heating and ventilation installations • Economic assessment of the costs of the proposed solutions.
