black reverse culatta open seam cardholder
the bifold cardholder has been cut from a butter soft vegetable tanned washed and tumbled 3.2mm reversed horse culatta with a visible layer of shadow cordovan and a rotten corpse matte black dye treatment. vegetable tanned leather is an ancient artisanal process that hinges on the delicate balance between timing and temperature. like a fine aged whiskey time is key, the careful balance of time allows the natural tannins such as tree bark to infuse, yielding rich colours and unparalleled durability. controlled cooling plays a crucial role in achieving that coveted texture and suppleness you come to expect. crafted entirely by hand without the use of machines, the cardholder features a portrait bifold silhouette, with a large note compartment hidden behind the card slots. the multiple card slots at each end and the note compartment are lined in a raw cut and washed french linen and allow you to hold up to 12 cards. an open seam construction runs vertically and connects each of the exterior panels. each of the 800+ stitch holes are individually spaced and punched by hand before the wallet is meticulously hand stitched with a hand waxed 0.65mm japanese linen thread. the wallet highlights the natural grain and scars of the leather. each piece comes in a hand made leather package. custom sizes and finishes are available upon request.
