Abide

What is abide? The minimal front serves as a simple reminder for you. The prominent back is a witness to the Life that Christ is inviting us all to live. abide is staying humble so God can work through you. abide is detaching from the world and finding real love in your cross. abide is choosing to live the way the Saints lived, walking in communion with God throughout your day. “abide” is a way of life with a promise: To Bear Much Fruit The word "abide" seems simple, but the invitation is profound. Jesus did not fully reveal this teaching until the night of the Last Supper, when He gave Himself to His apostles and invited them to abide in Him. abide is Eucharistic. To abide in Christ means to remain with Him, receive Him, surrender to Him, and allow Him to become the center of everything. It is not just following rules or saying the right words. It is being in union with Him, and letting Him guide you out of the bondages of sin you are attached to. In John 15, Jesus tells His disciples, “Abide in me, and I in you.” This was His invitation into the whole meaning of Catholic life: to live in communion with Him, and with one another. Eternal Life begins now. "And this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3 Eternal life does not wait to begin after death. It begins after we follow the call to "die" to our sinful desires and take up a new Life in Christ. When you give up sin and abide in Christ, Eternal Life begins as Christ is revealed to you, and you truly know Him and know the Father, and this happens as a real lived experience. Through true confession, through the Eucharist, through prayer, through surrender, and through daily giving up our sinful desires, we are invited to live in Him, and He in us.
