Creative Nexus I

Creative Nexus takes inspiration from a natural seed pod, a form that nurtures and protects its seeds until they are ready to grow and bloom independently. The work reflects Layne’s admiration for the creative community that Peter Layton has fostered over five decades through London Glassblowing. The gold seed invites reflection: should all the seeds be gold, does it represent a particular individual, or can viewers relate it to themselves? Through this organic form, Layne celebrates the artists and makers who have contributed to the studio’s creative nexus, and the environment that has allowed talent, ideas and creativity to flourish.
