Ceci n'est pas une half-pipe T-shirt

In 1929 some Belgian bloke painted a pipe and wrote 'this is not a pipe' underneath it and everyone in the art world lost their absolute minds about it for ninety-five years. Teachers taught it. Museums hung it. Academics wrote fourteen thousand words about the ontological relationship between signifier and signified and whether a painting of a thing is the thing itself or merely a representation of the thing and what does that even mean for the nature of reality and... A skateboarder looked at it for half a second and just went. And honestly? Best review it ever got. Ceci n'est pas une half-pipe. It absolutely is though. Look at the curve on that. That's a five-fifty waiting to happen. Magritte would have wanted this. Deep down. In his little Belgian surrealist heart. He would have wanted someone to grind his pipe. This shirt is for the skaters. The philosophers. And anyone who ever looked at fine art and thought: sick ramp.
