This stunning example was grown in Muyinga (now a part of Buhumuza province) and processed at a women-owned mill. Our sourcing partner in Burundi, JNP Coffee, names their lots from this community "Ntwari," a Kirundu word that implies courage and leadership. The name was inspired by one producer, a widow who learned specialty coffee techniques along with other women in her community, and now uses her wet mill to bring women producers along in her growing coffee business.
