Baby toes succulents are from Africa where they grow in coastal South Africa from Namaqualand in the Northern Cape to Luderitz in Namibia. In their natural habitat, sand can cover almost the entire plant, with just the tips reaching above the surface. The window at the leaf tip allows for increased photosynthesis. When mature, large, daisy like flowers will appear. Baby toes contain fenestrarine, a compound that can cause gastric upset and other unpleasant symptoms if ingested by our furry friends, so it is best to keep this plant out of reach. It is safe to include in arid reptile enclosures. Plants will ship bare root and are suitable for a 3 to 4 inch pot.
