Where the AC-series combos defined the bright, chiming British clean, the closed-back 4×12 pushes that voice into a tighter, more focused low-end built for stage-level and higher-gain playing.Loaded with four VOX™ Custom GSH-1230-16 drivers — 12-inch, 30W, 16Ω, made for VOX by the long-established British loudspeaker maker Wharfedale. These are current-production drivers in an accessible, affordable class, but they're voiced after the classic British 30-watt 12″ of the Celestion G12H30 / Greenback lineage and developed under Steve Grindrod, formerly of Celestion and Fane. The singing upper-mids of that family stay intact, joined by the extra headroom of the 30-watt "H"-style design.The capture is routed through a Neve™ VR console module, the input channel from one of the most consequential large-format consoles of the modern studio era. The Neve VR adds the colour that has defined British studio recording for decades: a deep, weighted low-end, a smooth and harmonically rich midrange, and a top end that opens up without turning brittle.
