Distributed by A. Cairelli of Rome, the historic supplier to the Italian Air Force, the CP-2 was developed as a professional navigation and timing instrument for military pilots. Its impressive 43 mm stainless steel case was exceptionally large for the period and ensured outstanding legibility under operational conditions. The matte black dial with luminous Arabic numerals is complemented by the highly desirable rotating bakelite bezel, one of the defining features of the military-issued CP-2.
