Piston Clock - Lemon-Lime Mopar
Most engine pistons spend their lives converting explosions into motion. These have moved on to a less stressful career. Handcrafted in Pennsylvania by Edward Plazek of Man Cave Plus, each desk clock starts with an actual engine piston and connecting rod. Add a clock face, and suddenly a pile of automotive parts has opinions about your schedule. We’re calling this yellowy-green or greeny-yellow color lemon-lime. Based on the part number for the connecting rod, this piston may have come from a big block Chevy from the 1950s, '60s, or '70s. Its clock face has Arabic numerals and a gold ring, and it’s about 10 inches tall. This one came with a little evidence of the handmade process — minor paint drips that are part of its story. Each Piston Clock is painted by hand, battery operated, and arrives with a AAA battery installed. Felt pads on the bottom protect your desk, because even repurposed engine parts have standards.
