The Vault Rustic Furniture — Corsicana, Texas The Caprock Sofa is a three-seat frame built from solid kiln-dried hardwood with mortise-and-tenon joinery reinforced by corner blocking at all structural stress points. The frame accommodates oversized cushioning across the seat, back, and arm tops, upholstered entirely in hand-distressed honey-amber full-grain leather that displays natural crackling, whisker scars, and pull marks unique to each hide. The arm side panels and base skirt feature hair-on brindle cowhide with dark streaking, creating textural contrast against the smooth leather surfaces and establishing a layered, authentic ranch aesthetic. The hand-distressed leather receives a protective wax finish that deepens the amber tones while highlighting natural grain variation and surface character. Exposed antique-bronze nail-head trim lines the perimeter of the frame at arm caps, seat rails, and base edge, with each nail hand-set for consistent spacing. The cushion cores are eight-way hand-tied for support longevity, wrapped in high-loft polyester batting before leather upholstery. Piping at seams is topstitched by hand, and the back panel features channel stitching that runs horizontally across the full width, echoing traditional western upholstery techniques developed in our Corsicana workshop.
