Ethiopia | Bekele Yutute
Region: Sidama, Ethiopia Process: Natural Variety: Ethiopian Landraces Elevation: 2,250 masl We Taste: Blueberry, Lychee, Elderflower Bekele Yutute is a member of a network of farmers in the Bensa district of the Sidama region who have successfully transitioned towards exporting their own coffee with an unmatched focus on quality. This group of producers have also been actively involved in the Ethiopian Cup of Excellence, with Bekele winning 4th place in 2024. Given the extreme elevations of his farm, the cool weather slows down the ripening of cherries, creating very small and dense seeds that are complex and focused in flavor. This particular lot from Bekele is incredibly well sorted, with fewer physical defects than we often find in even the best natural processed coffees. The resulting cup profile is very clean and expressive. We're tasting prominent flavors of blueberry, lychee, guava, and white peach with florals of elderflower and jasmine.
