🎃 Pottery Afterwork: Halloween Handbuilding Special 🕯️✨ •Friday 9th October • 18-20.30 • Join us for a cozy, spooky clay Afterwork at the studio! In this special edition, we’ll be using hand-building techniques to sculpt creepy-cute Halloween candle holders—think ghost lanterns, pumpkin tealight holders, haunted castles, or twisted skull candle stands. Our main focus is hand-building, but if you'd like to try the pottery wheel during the evening, you can request it in advance! Each participant will: Learn basic hand-building techniques (pinch pot, coil, and slab building). Design and sculpt a spooky Halloween candle holder. Pick a finish from our studio glazes — we’ll glaze and fire your creations for you! Perfect for total beginners and anyone looking for a creative, fun evening out 💛 Instructor: Jenny Chuang Sköld Location: Urban Artists Stockholm – Bohusgatan 27 BV Language: Taught in English 🎁 What’s Included: 500g of Clay (plenty for crafting a candle holder) Step-by-step guidance to create your Halloween piece Our signature wabi-sabi studio glazes Bisque & glaze firing service for your completed piece Full access to hand-building tools, textures, and cutters Fruits & snacks (feel free to BYOB!) 🎡 Optional Wheel Throwing Tryout: Want to try the pottery wheel too? Email us in advance to reserve a spot at the wheel during the session. Add-on fee: 200 SEK (payable via Swish onsite). ➕ Extra Pieces & Clay: Extra pieces: If you make additional pieces you’d like to keep, we’ll glaze & fire them for 200 kr per extra piece. Extra clay (if needed): 100 kr/kg Bring With You Your favourite drink (wine, bubbles, kombucha – your choice) Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting clay on A small hand towel (we have aprons to lend you) Workshop Overview (2 hours) Welcome & Intro (10 min): Meet & settle in, short intro to the wheel and basic techniques. Demo (10 min): Jenny shows the full process from centering to shaping a simple form. Wheel Time (80 min): Try throwing on the wheel or handbuild with guidance Practice a few small forms Choose one piece you’d like us to keep, trim & glaze. Fika, Choosing Glaze & Wrap-Up (20 min): Snacks + your BYOB Choose glaze for your piece Short cleanup & info about pickup Pottery Pickup Your finished piece will be ready in about 3–4 weeks.
