This 2016 L4 CES Mahogany hails from the Gibson Custom Shop, reviving a historic model in the Gibson lineup through the most skilled hands the Custom Shop has to offer. Featuring a Custom Crimson designation, this L4 was build by small signature team of luthiers within the custom shop who are "held to the highest standards of craftsmanship and creativity" according to the Crimson Red Custom certificate. Signed by master builder James D. Culberson on March 31st of that year, this L4 CES has been crafted to supreme quality standards, resulting in one of Gibson's highest order builds. The carved Spruce top, combined with the carved Mahogany back & sides, delivers an undeniably powerful voice, full of Body and Soul. Equipped with two '57 Classic Pickups, the PAF tone takes those characteristics and imbues them with response, warmth, and a long-yearned-for familiarity. A 16" lower bout signals immense projection and tops off the details to deliver that unmistakable jazz box tone. Here in Excellent condition, it's got some playwear to the guard and some wall-hanger finish smudges to where the back of the headstock meets the neck. A monster player, set up with flats for that legendary jazz tone, this one will not disappoint.
