The idea for the 'Wintering Tree' was to create a contrast to the colourful, joyous pearls. It speaks to the idea of dormancy as profound time for gathering thoughts and ideas. Symbolic of a figure, the Pearls are held in the branches of the tree like thoughts or dreams. This sculpture is the display for Pia Murphy's 'A Beautiful and Strange Otherness' earrings, available separately.
