BTT EZ2209 Stepper Motor Driver
BIGTREETECH EZ2209 is the pinless TMC2209 driver for BTT/BIQU EZ-driver boards. Use it when you want quiet, current-controlled stepper motion in an EZ socket without the bent-pin risk of a traditional StepStick module. Why this over a standard TMC2209? EZ connector format: made for SKR 3 EZ, Manta E3EZ, Octopus MAX EZ, and other BTT/BIQU boards with EZ-driver sockets. Quiet motion: TMC2209-based driver with StealthChop2 for low-speed silence and SpreadCycle for higher-speed torque. Smarter current control: MicroPlyer interpolation, StallGuard4 locked-motor detection, and CoolStep dynamic current control are supported by the TMC2209 platform. Safer handling: the EZ board frame and integrated heatsink reduce exposed-pin handling and help protect the driver IC. Specifications Driver IC: TMC2209 Motor supply voltage: 4.75–28V DC Current rating: 2A RMS, 2.8A peak Control modes: STEP/DIR or UART Microstepping: 2, 4, 8, 16 with interpolation up to 256 microsteps Board size: 15.24 × 20.32mm Firmware fit: Klipper or Marlin on compatible BTT/BIQU EZ-socket control boards Fitment and alternatives Use this for EZ-driver sockets, not a bare standard StepStick socket unless you are also using the proper EZ-driver connector/adapter. If your control board uses standard StepStick pins, use the BTT TMC2209 v1.2 Stepper Driver instead. If you need a higher-current EZ-format SPI driver, see the BTT EZ5160 PRO Stepper Motor Driver. Installation notes Power off before installing or removing the driver. Do not hot-plug stepper drivers. Confirm orientation before inserting the module; reversed driver installation can damage the driver or control board. Leave the factory heatsink in place unless you are deliberately reworking the thermal interface.
