250 watts into 4 ohms. Twenty years of DAC evolution. The Bel Canto E1X D250 unites the HDR-II DAC core, AMiP six-processor platform, MM/MC phono stage, Roon Ready streaming, and a high-powered amplifier stage into one uncompromising integrated chassis. Every Source. Every Genre. Nothing Held Back. The question every integrated amplifier must answer is whether its ambitions exceed its architecture. The Bel Canto E1X D250 answers with authority. Drawing directly from the design philosophy of the award-winning Bel Canto BLACK system, it unites decades of DAC mastery with serious amplification into a single, compact chassis that handles every source you care to connect — and drives every speaker you care to own. At its heart are Bel Canto's two most advanced proprietary technologies: the HDR-II (High Dynamic Range II) DAC core and the AMiP (Asynchronous Multi-Input Processor) platform. Together they manage Ethernet streaming, USB, AES, S/PDIF, TosLink, analogue line level, and a fully programmable MM/MC phono stage — all asynchronously re-clocked into a fully balanced Advanced Segment DAC measuring below 0.001% distortion and 126dB of dynamic range. The amplifier stage delivers 250 watts into 4 ohms and 150 watts into 8 ohms, with a minimum load of 2 ohms and peak output current of 18 amperes. This is what it means to build an integrated amplifier without compromise. HDR-II: Twenty Years of DAC Evolution Bel Canto's High Dynamic Range II (HDR-II) core is the culmination of more than twenty years of digital-to-analogue design evolution. Operating at 126dB of dynamic range — higher than any analogue volume control could achieve — it delivers completely transparent volume control at every listening level, with 32-bit math precision. Advanced Segment Technology combines multi-bit and delta-sigma designs to produce 132dB dynamic range with linear-phase digital filters. The conversion operates in Constant Voltage, Class A Differential Current mode, with large constant-bias differential currents keeping every component in thermal stasis and preserving the full dynamic character of the original recording. Ultra-Low Phase Noise Master Clocks run free from dedicated low-noise supplies, with two stages of asynchronous interfacing stripping jitter from every incoming digital source. AMiP: Six Processors. Every Source. Zero Compromise. The AMiP platform is a powerful custom asynchronous core comprising six dedicated processors: two 32-bit XMOS general-purpose processors, two 32-bit ARM processors, and two dedicated audio processors. Together they manage Ethernet (Roon Ready, DLNA), USB-A host input, USB2 24/384 input, legacy SPDIF/AES/TosLink inputs, and analogue line level and phono inputs — simultaneously and without compromise. Dual free-running Ultra-Low Phase Noise Master Clocks direct all digital processing and strip incoming jitter from every external digital source. Custom Time Optimised Filters with integer up-sampling mimic the time domain response of an audio signal travelling through ten metres of open air, preserving the critical time relationships in the original recording. Streaming Without Limits Asynchronous Ethernet and USB-A inputs deliver high-resolution files up to 24-bit/384kHz, MQA, and DSD128 — connecting you to subscription streaming services, a NAS drive, or a USB-connected personal library. iOS users can control everything wirelessly via Bel Canto's SEEK app. Android users can use the MConnect app. The E1X D250 is also a Roon endpoint for seamless Roon Ready integration. RS-232 support enables integration with sophisticated whole-house control systems. MM/MC Phono Stage The dual-stage analogue phono architecture begins with an ultra-low noise input RIAA amplifier with precision filter components and fixed 40dB gain, followed by a digitally controlled analogue variable gain stage accommodating a broad range of MM and MC cartridges. Input loading is fully configurable from the menu for optimal MC impedance matching. RIAA accuracy is ±0.25dB from 50Hz to 15kHz. Headphone Output A dedicated secondary DAC with 112dB dynamic range drives the headphone output through a high-current output buffer, capable of driving 32-ohm headphones to high levels. Plugging in headphones automatically reconfigures the E1X D250 into a dedicated headphone amplifier — with main speaker output control and volume managed from the front panel. Bass Management, Tilt & EQ A custom 64-bit DSP engine enables precision filtering and equalisation without the noise or distortion of traditional analogue filters. The Tilt function adjusts high and low frequencies simultaneously around a 775Hz axis — ideal for correcting tonal balance in challenging recordings or rooms. Bass EQ provides ±3dB of control below 200Hz in 0.6dB increments. Independent high-pass and low-pass filters (40–120Hz, adjustable in 10Hz steps) enable seamless subwoofer integration, with ±6dB of gain trim on the subwoofer output. A configurable maximum volume setting protects speakers from accidental overdriving. Always Up to Date Over-the-network firmware updates via Ethernet ensure the E1X D250 is always running the latest software — automatically, without power cycling. Feature Cards 🔊 250W Power Amplifier Stage Delivering 250W into 4 ohms, 150W into 8 ohms, with a 2-ohm minimum load and 18-ampere peak output current — the E1X D250 drives virtually any speaker with authority, control, and the dynamic headroom to reveal everything in the recording. 🎛️ HDR-II DAC Core — 126dB Dynamic Range Twenty years of DAC evolution in a single proprietary core. Advanced Segment Technology with Class A Differential Current output, dual Ultra-Low Phase Noise Master Clocks, and 132dB dynamic range — for sound that is as analogue in character as it is digitally precise. ⚙️ AMiP Platform — Six Processors, Every Source Bel Canto's Asynchronous Multi-Input Processor handles Ethernet (Roon Ready, DLNA), USB, AES, S/PDIF, TosLink, analogue line level, and MM/MC phono — simultaneously and without compromise. 🎙️ MM/MC Phono Stage A dual-stage analogue phono architecture with ultra-low noise RIAA amplifier, fixed 40dB gain, digitally controlled variable gain, and configurable MC input loading — delivering ±0.25dB RIAA accuracy from 50Hz to 15kHz.
