When the rain finally stopped, the landscape had changed. Rivers had carved new paths, vegetation had been flattened and reshaped, and the mountains seemed quieter than before. But as I walked through the nature, I realised that nature wasn't damaged—it was simply beginning again. That feeling stayed with me while I painted. Layer by layer, I built the surface without trying to control every outcome. Some marks remained visible, others disappeared beneath new layers. Scraped-back textures, transparent washes, drips and expressive brushstrokes all became part of the painting's history. Like the landscape itself, the painting slowly revealed its own direction. For me, After the Storm isn't about destruction. It's about transformation. It's about the quiet beauty that appears after everything has settled, when nature begins to recover and new life quietly emerges. Rather than telling a single story, I wanted to create a painting that invites the viewer to slow down, explore its layers and discover something different each time they look at it.
