Organic Sweetcorn, Ambrosia

Freshly picked bicolour sweetcorn, grown organically here at Llannant Farm with no sprays of any kind. Ambrosia is a supersweet variety with plump yellow and white kernels and a flavour that earns its name. Sweet, juicy and tender, it's a world away from supermarket corn. Sweetcorn starts converting its sugar to starch the moment it's picked, which is why shop-bought cobs so often disappoint. Ours is picked to order and eaten at its peak, and that's the whole difference. Grown in Welsh soil on our third generation family farm in Gorseinon, and picked the day it leaves the field. Best eaten as soon as you can. Boil or steam for a few minutes, or grill it in the husk, then butter, salt, done.
