Cassiopeia A is inspired by one of the most studied supernova remnants in our galaxy—the remains of a massive star that exploded hundreds of years ago. Captured in extraordinary detail by the James Webb Space Telescope, its expanding shell glows with ribbons of pink, orange and gold surrounded by cooler blues, violets and deep shadow. This colorway translates that cosmic wreckage into yarn with electric coral and fiery orange, flashes of gold and green, icy blue and violet, all moving through a deep midnight ground.
