The sides fold inward over the bed, so the tent packs down into a low, clean hardshell profile and opens back out fast. Sides fold in under 30 seconds. No fighting poles, no half-hour wrestle at the end of a long drive — fold the sides in, drop the shell, latch it down. It is a genuinely different format to the Revo-X. The X-frame Revo-X (1.3 / 1.45) is built around a rear-fold layout; the SX is a side-fold platform at 1.6m. Same Rainger build standard, chosen application to suit the setup. Why a 100mm Electric Mattress — Keeping the Comfort Standard in a Side-Fold Across the Rainger range, 100mm is the mattress standard. In a side-folding tent, holding that standard is harder than it sounds. In a side-fold, the mattress has to pack away with the tent as the sides fold in. A conventional foam mattress would have had to drop to around 60–70mm to fit the fold — a compromise we were not willing to make, and one that would not have delivered the result we were after. The solution is a 100mm electric self-inflating / deflating mattress. At the push of a button it deflates thin to pack flat inside the side-fold, then inflates back to a full 100mm sleeping surface at camp. You keep the same 100mm comfort as the rest of the range — in an application where passive foam simply could not deliver it without cutting the mattress down. It is the current best solution for keeping the SX at the Rainger comfort standard, not a shortcut. Weight — The Honest Number The bare tent weighs 66.78kg excluding accessories — a genuinely light figure for an aluminium hardshell, and worth knowing if you are comparing against tents that only ever quote their shell weight. But the bare figure is not the number that matters once it is on your roof. Add everything that comes in the box and the all-up installed weight is approximately 82.36kg. That is the figure to check against your roof or canopy's dynamic load rating.
