Its USB 3.0 interface makes LTO tape storage accessible without requiring a traditional SAS interface or SAS HBA. With support for 12TB native / 30TB compressed capacity per LTO-8 cartridge and transfer speeds of up to 300MB/s, the LT80H2 is well suited for backing up large datasets, video archives, surveillance footage, business data and other information requiring reliable long-term retention. Once a tape is removed from the drive, the data can be physically isolated from the network for an effective air-gap backup strategy.
