Although he has made some progress since his operation, Freddie is currently still unable to use his back legs. Sadly, as his owner is moving overseas, they have made the difficult decision to find Freddie a new home where he can continue to receive the care, love and support he needs. Despite everything Freddie has been through, his wonderful personality continues to shine. He is a happy, affectionate little dog with a lovely nature and plenty of character. Freddie loves being close to his people and is happiest when he is surrounded by those he loves. Whether he is playing with his favourite toys or snuggling up for a cuddle after a nap, Freddie is a little dog who simply loves being part of the family. His gentle and affectionate nature means he quickly forms strong bonds with those around him, and his new family will gain a devoted and loving companion. Freddie is continuing with his rehabilitation following surgery, so his new family will need to be committed to providing the ongoing care and support he requires. He is continent, although he does have the occasional accident, and he sometimes needs his bladder expressed. We are hopeful that his bladder function will continue to improve as his rehabilitation progresses. The Red Foundation is committed to supporting dogs with additional medical needs, and we will discuss the support we can offer with potential adopters. Freddie could potentially live with another friendly, well-matched dog. He could also live with sensible, dog-savvy children aged 8 years and over who are able to understand and respect his needs. Due to his mobility challenges, Freddie will need a home with easy access to a secure garden. Freddie is a very good boy who can happily sleep in his crate or on the bed when invited up. He can also be left alone for around 3–4 hours. Aside from his IVDD, Freddie is in excellent health and has so much love to give. He deserves a family who will continue to support him throughout his rehabilitation while embracing everything that makes him such a special little dog. With patience, commitment and plenty of love and affection, Freddie will make a truly wonderful companion. We have no doubt that, given the chance, he will become a much-loved and cherished member of his new family.
