Hand-Stitched Mixed Media Collage - 9/27

Join Kimberly Kuniko for a 2-hour workshop where she'll guide us through the intuitive, yet considered process of assembling dynamic mixed media collage from a variety of source materials including vintage books, magazine pages, and decorative Japanese papers. We'll experiment with incorporating hand-stitching as a way to create added dimension, compelling connection points, and inventive intersections that tie shapes and ideas together into a cohesive art piece. A lovely way to repurpose materials and give them a second life in an entirely new form. All skill levels welcome + all art materials are provided. Just bring yourself (and perhaps a friend)! Add a take-home collage kit for $15 Kimberly Kuniko (she/her) is a mixed-race Nikkei American illustrator, collage + mixed media artist, and the designer behind Lacelit, a stationery + gift company featuring endearing imagery and clever wordplay. Based in what is now known as Los Angeles, California (unceded Tongva land), her Japanese roots inform her art through a love of paper, finding the connection between things, balancing detail and texture, and layering stories together. She enjoys hosting guided workshops and retreats for creatives of all mediums, and facilitating the Dream & Scheme Community for Small Business Owners.
