The Concrete Blonde Double Cut Jr. The exact guitar on this page will be available on Friday, July 31st at 2pm Pacific Time / 5pm Eastern / 10pm UK Drawing inspiration from the legendary Juniors of the late 1950's this guitar delivers the complex harmonics, fast response, soulful voice and Rock n Roll spirt of the originals. The wood we used on this guitar is from a salvaged slab of Douglas Fir that spent many years as a concrete form and has spent decades drying and curing, resulting in a stable, acoustically rich platform that’s free from the movement and unpredictability found in modern, kiln-dried lumber. "When I found this piece of wood in a salvage yard it was covered in old, dry concrete along with a stack of similar boards. It was obvious that this board spent it's life forming concrete structures like foundations, slabs and sidewalks. We can only Imagine." Jason Momoa saw the raw wood and loved it which inspired a creative collaboration throughout the rest of the build process. We built 5 "Concrete Blondes" total from this wood. Jason has 3 / Gio is keeping a copy of this Jr. in his collection and this one is now available for you to bring home. Joinery All joints are assembled using traditional hide glue, the same adhesive used in fine instruments for centuries. Hide glue creates a tighter, harder, more resonant bond between components, allowing vibration to transfer more efficiently throughout the body—enhancing sustain, warmth, and tonal complexity. Built straight and true, ready for the rigors of the road or studio. It’s not just a guitar—it’s a finely tuned machine built to inspire, endure, and evolve with you.
