👋 A B O U T A classic little black dress in rayon crepe that holds the line between the late 1940s and the early 1950s. The fitted, darted bodice, nipped waist, and full, swirling pleated skirt are pure New Look, the silhouette Dior introduced in 1947 and American makers were still refining well into the '50s. Black velvet gives the dress its interest: a banded scoop neckline, a rectangular velvet-framed placket with four velvet-covered buttons, and matching velvet bands and buttons on the short sleeves. The skirt is finely knife-pleated and moves beautifully. Closes with the original metal zipper up the back. So beautiful on.
