Thomas Bocklenberg, Fantasie In Nomine 2, Reflective Variations for lute in G, 10 courses (French tablature) 'Fantasie In Nomine 2, Reflective Variations’ is based on a Gregorian chant that John Taverner (c. 1490–1545) used in his mass Gloria Tibi Trinitas. It is the earliest known use of this Gregorian chant as a cantus firmus in a polyphonic work. The designation ‘In nomine’ derives from the words ‘in nomine Domini’ in the Benedictus of Taverner’s Mass.
