Viburnum dilatatum 'Asian Beauty'

Asian Beauty Viburnum. This excellent cultivar was selected and introduced by Don Shadow of Winchester, TN. It is somewhat more upright than the species, but its best asset is its red berry crop which is produced in great abundance and which hold well into the winter. For best fruit production one should plant another clone or a closely related selection for cross pollination, such as Viburnum dilatatum 'Frosty'. Flowers are a lacecap type in April, and branches are in a layered arrangement such as we see in the "plicatum" types.. Here in the Deep South it is best to grow this species in filtered sun or morning sun and afternoon shade. Zones 5-8
