Award winning rose - Silvery lilac fragrant flower - Autumn Rose hips Also known as Sissi Rose. One of the best known lavender climbing roses. The cool lilac colouring resembles the blue moon giving it its nick name. This veriety is still the most popular of the so called blue roses. Its flowers are very full, fragrant silvery lilac. It has light green glossy leaves and grows vigorous upright and reaches hights of 300cm. Also suitalble as a cut flower for indoor displays. Mainzer Fastnacht has been awarded The Royal Horticultural Society Garden Merit Award as well as Gold Medal Rome. This rose will produce Autumn rose hips if the last flush of flowers are not removed. To keep your plant healthy it will requrie regular deadheading throughout the flowering season and any faded or spotted leaves should be removed. Fresh multch should be added twice a year to keep leaves healthy. This plant will also need hard prooning early spring and shaping throughout the growing season. If you are planting next to wall or fence, allow at least a 12inch gap for space for the roots to grow. If planting in a pot you will need a deep pot for the roots.
