Sivali Indian Sandalwood Medallion
Sivali was a pre-eminent disciple of the Buddha and the Patron saint of travel, believed to ward off misfortunes such as fire or theft. Sīvali is typically depicted standing upright and carrying a walking staff, an alms bowl and Buddhist prayer beads. His veneration predates the introduction of Theravada Buddhism into Burma.
