Alocasia Metallic Blue

Alocasia Metallic Blue, botanically known as Alocasia heterophylla ‘Metallic Blue’, is a striking collector Alocasia known for its narrow, elongated foliage and distinctive metallic blue green sheen. The leaves have a slightly heavier, leathery texture and catch the light beautifully, shifting between cool green, blue, and silvery tones depending on the angle. This variety is closely related in appearance to Alocasia heterophylla ‘Dragon’s Breath’, but the easiest way to tell them apart is by the stems. Alocasia Metallic Blue develops dark, striped petioles with a jungle or Zebrina like pattern, while Alocasia Dragon’s Breath typically has plain, light green stems. The mature leaves of Alocasia Metallic Blue may also appear slightly lighter and thicker, giving the plant a more substantial, sculptural look.
