Speedi Sleeve, Pinion and Yoke Repair, 1941-1971, Willys and Jeep

A Speedi-Sleeve (often called a Speedy Sleeve) is a thin, hardened stainless steel repair sleeve that installs over a worn shaft to provide a brand-new sealing surface for an oil or grease seal. Why use one? Over time, the lip of an oil seal wears a groove into a shaft or yoke. Even if you install a new seal, it may still leak because the seal rides in that worn groove. Instead of replacing the entire shaft, you install a Speedi-Sleeve. These will fit the yokes found on the Dana 25, Dana 27, and yokes on the Dana 18 transfer case.
