Beginner Wire Wrapping Class with Instructor Kathleen Cavalaro

Learn the basics of wire wrapping and leave with a finished pair of gemstone earrings you made yourself! This small-group beginner class is limited to just 3 students per session, so everyone gets plenty of hands-on instruction and individual help. No previous jewelry-making experience is necessary. During the class, you'll learn basic wire wrapping techniques that can become the foundation for making all kinds of jewelry and creating your own designs. We'll talk about the different types of beads, wire, findings, tools, and other supplies so you'll know what you're looking at and what you actually need to keep creating at home. A former bead store owner in Brooklyn, New York, she taught weekly jewelry-making classes, and her work has been worn by celebrities including Madonna, Kate Walsh, and Rashida Jones. Today, Kathleen creates handmade jewelry using the same wire wrapping techniques taught in this class, with her work sold in more than 400 stores across the U.S. and eight countries.
