Region: Palta, Ecuador Process: Washed Variety: Bourbon, Caturra, Catucai, Typica Altitude: 1850 masl We Taste: Blueberry, White Peach, Lilac Finca Santa Cecilia is a 3 hectare farm located in Palta, Ecuador and is managed by brother Juan Carlos and Wilson Gallego. Wilson has owned the farm for over 45 years and Juan Carlos has been helping him grow coffee there since he was young. For most of that time, the brothers were producing more conventional coffee and selling it to intermediaries. About 10 years ago, the brothers joined a producer group that had access to a better market and began to focus the quality of their coffee, improving their production and processing practices. Though the group didn't succeed as a whole, they continued to pursue quality with their production. Their hard work and commitment certainly shows in the cup. This lot shines with tropical flavors like blueberry, guava, plantain, and white peach. It is also quite floral with lilac, lavender, and elderflower aromatics. This is the third year The Coffee Quest has worked with the brothers and our third year purchasing their coffee as well. This is one of the coffees we look forward to most each year and this harvest may be our favorite yet!
