L-Mesitran Honey Hydrogel Pad L-Mesitran Honey Hydrogel Pad is a sterile honey-hydrogel wound dressing containing 30% medical-grade honey. It rehydrates dry tissue, absorbs low to moderate wound exudate and supports a moist wound-healing environment. Supplied as a pack of five 10cm x 10cm dressings. The dressing contains 30% medical-grade honey combined with an acrylic polymer gel and water. Its hydrogel pad donates moisture to help rehydrate dry or dehydrated tissue while absorbing and retaining wound fluid. L-Mesitran Hydro conforms to the shape of the wound bed, helping maintain close contact with the wound surface. Its low-adherent design supports more comfortable dressing changes and helps protect newly formed tissue. A semi-permeable polyurethane film backing provides a protective barrier while allowing gases and water vapour to pass through. The dressing helps maintain a moist environment that supports the natural wound-healing process. Unlike L-Mesitran Border, this dressing does not have a surrounding adhesive border and should be secured using an appropriate secondary dressing or fixation material. L-Mesitran Hydro may be used for low to moderately exuding wounds, including: Pressure ulcers Venous, arterial and diabetic ulcers Superficial wounds Surgical wounds Cuts and abrasions Donor sites Superficial and partial-thickness burns Fungating wounds Inspect and cleanse the wound according to the appropriate clinical protocol. Select a dressing that provides approximately 1cm of overlap around the wound edges. Remove the protective liner and gently apply the hydrogel side directly to the wound. Cover and secure L-Mesitran Hydro with an appropriate secondary dressing or fixation material. Inspect the wound and surrounding skin regularly. The dressing may remain in place for up to five days, depending on the wound condition and level of exudate. Replace before the dressing becomes saturated or if it has been compromised. Do not use: On patients with a known sensitivity to the dressing or its components On heavily exuding wounds On full-thickness burns In deep, narrow cavities or sinuses Sterile and intended for single-patient use.
