Ringsby included his trucking company name in the logo and changed the team name to Rockets — the company's best-selling truck model. During the 1968 season, Lonnie Wright left the football Broncos and joined the Rockets, where he would stay for four seasons. Following the 1972 season, Ringsby sold the team and it played its final season as the Rockets in 1973–74. Notable players included Larry Brown, Spencer Haywood, Byron Beck, Ralph Simpson, and Larry Jones.
