This is the latest Karatsu tea bowl by the Karatsu ceramic artist Raizan Yasunaga. Its softly cylindrical form is paired with a striking biwa-colored body that recalls Ido tea bowls, while the surface, though matte, retains a deep and quiet sheen. Fine herame marks create a gentle landscape, and as the eye moves from the interior to the outer body, the rougher expression of the fire-facing side gradually emerges. Areas where the clay is left exposed reveal vivid reddish kiln transformation, and even the low foot carries a natural, unforced beauty. Distinct from the character of sandstone-based Karatsu, this is a powerful work with an especially vivid color and earthy presence. Width 12.1cm/Height 8.8cm With the original signed wooden box and matching cloth. (We will ship within 3 business days after completing your order.)
