Lecturer: Amy Sibenaler Wed 29 Apr – Wed 3 Jun 6:00pm – 9:00pm Level – Intermediate Age – 16+ This is an adult class and is not suitable for students under 16 years of age. Students under 18, must obtain parental or guardian consent and submit a completed consent form before the class commences. This short course guides students through the process of transforming drawings into resolved paintings. Using a source image as a starting point, participants will be taken step-by-step through a structured creative workflow that moves from drawing to painterly interpretation. The course focuses on drawing as a critical foundation for painting—exploring composition, tone, and mark-making as tools for decision-making before starting to paint. Students will learn how to analyse and manually edit the image, develop preparatory drawings, and translate those drawings into paintings. Students will gain insight into a creative process that supports both technical development and personal expression.
