Patagonia Sunrise

The three granite towers that give Torres del Paine its name rise to 8,200, 8,500, and 8,200 feet above the Chilean Patagonian steppe — vertical walls of granite intruded into older sedimentary rock about 12 million years ago, then carved into spires by the glaciers that still surround them. Evan shoots them at sunrise from the lake below, the first light hitting only the upper third of the towers.
